Some new games on the horizon from Grey Gnome Games!
First off we have a new card game that will be launched this summer! It uses the core mechanics from Plague the Card Game, but with a family-friendly space theme! Here is a peek at the box!
Next we have a game I am working on for The Game Crafter Contest! Here is a sneak peek at some of the cards for that. Take note that the battle cards all use the art from one painting and when lined up they create the full painting.

A First look at some tiles from Tasnia!
Tasnia is a resource gathering game that also employs tile laying. Players draw resources to form a hand of 5 cards and they spend these resources (Wood, Stone, Iron, Laborer, Carpenter, Mason, and Gold) to purchase portions of a building. These portions come in the form of tiles that can be used to construct medieval buildings. Completed buildings score players points. Incomplete buildings hinder a players score!

BIG SHIPMENT ARRIVED! WOOT!
Here is a picture of everything laid out and stacked up.
Sorry, I took the picture with my phone. I plan on making a quick video once I get the boxes so I can show the complete game to you guys. You can see the stacks of deck on the top left hand side. Below those you see the stack of Rat Cards, then the Jumbo Reference Cards, then the black velvet drawstring bags. The huge mass of gold doubloons covers the right side of the table and in between the coins and the decks are the new booklets. Everything came out fantastic. The quality of the print on everything is top notch and crystal clear. The coins look very real and each one has a lot of heft to them. 13 of the coins fit great into the pouch. I think you all will be very very happy!

Below I am going to slowly upload a piece of artwork in stages as I work on it. First will be the rough pencil rendering and then onto ink work and color. This is piece is for my next game! As you can tell it has a fantasy theme. More details about the game’s mechanics to come…

Artwork and Details on New Box!
This is the final rendering of what the box cover will look like. The edges and sides of the box will be a nice charcoal grey with a textured effect. The box will measure 5.5″L x 3.75″ W x 1.25″ D. The box will be just the right size. Small enough to take with you anywhere you want to go and yet large enough to hold everything! NO wasted space. NO giant plastic trays to fool you into thinking you are getting a huge game. Everything has a place in the box. The 3.75″ width will allow cards to be sleeved as well. I hope you enjoy the artwork! I will try and get a 3D rendering up at some point.

Kickstarter Campaign is a Success! Now the Real Work Begins!
First off we want to thank all 224 backers who have helped make this project come to life! We are very excited to get started on the manufacturing end of Plague the Card Game. So what does this funding mean for Grey Gnome Games? It will allow us not only to produce a sizable run of Plague but to grow as a small indie business. Here are a few things that will change around here in the coming months:
1) A Site Storefront. We will be opening a storefront here on the site where you will be able to purchase copies of our games directly from us! You will also be able to order T-Shirts, mugs, and other items!
2) Promotion. We will have the funds to do a little bit more advertising and that will help a lot!
3) A Site Forum. We are now looking at ways to add a forum to this site and allow people to create user accounts. This will allow us to interact with you guys and gals and to answer questions easier. It also allows you as fans to communicate with eachother.
Look for these changes in the near future!

Bonus Jumbo Card for all who pledge at the Alchemist Level ($40) or higher!

Gen Con was a Blast!

I got a chance to demo Plague to a lot of people and got to meet a bunch of other game designers. I was in geek heaven. I met Matt Worden of Matt Worden Games, which is best known for Jump Gate, Dicey Curves, and Castle Danger. I spent quite a while chatting with Jermey Southard of Wastex Games, which is best known for Arena of Heroes, Reversal of Furtune, and Robot Repair Crew.
I also got to play a round of Plague with Mark and Christina Major of Whirling Derby Games, which is best known for Skyvale, RIG, and their latest Zerpang!. We had a great time.

We Have Submitted Plague to Kickstarter!
This evening we finished up the final details for our Kickstarter Campaign and have submitted our project to Kickstarter. For those of you who do not know what Kickstarter is here is a brief discription of what Kickstarter is:
“One of a number of fundraising platforms dubbed ” Crowd-Funding,” Kickstarter facilitates gathering monetary resources from the general public, a model which circumvents many traditional avenues of investment. Projects must meet Kickstarter’s guidelines to launch — charity, cause, “fund-my-life” projects and open-ended fundraising are not permitted.Project creators choose a deadline and a goal minimum of funds to raise. If the chosen goal is not gathered by the deadline, no funds are collected (this is known as a provision point mechanism). Money pledged by donors is collected using Amazon Payments. The platform is open only to permanent US residents of 18 years of age or older, with a US address, US bank account, a US state-issued driver’s license, and a major US credit or debit card.” – Wikipedia

The basic design is a free template. I designed the artwork and large buttons and all of that stuff. My concept was to keep it clean and simple. Thanks!
